Municipal Facilities Committee

Summary: This Committee oversees City space use including the assignment of workspace, leases, and various construction projects including neighborhood city halls, the Los Angeles Street Civic Center Building, and bridge housing facilities.

Prop F Fire Facilities AOC

Members: CAO, CLA, Mayor, City Engineer and Fire Chief
Summary: Oversees a program to build 21 fire facilities. Three new fire station projects remain as well as a Phase II capital repair program.

Prop F Animal Facilities AOC

Members: CAO, CLA, Mayor, City Engineer and Animal Services GM
Summary: Oversees a program to build/renovate eight animal shelters. All original projects have been completed and a Phase II program has been initiated to make additional capital improvements at the various animal shelters as well as to add a new annex facility at an existing shelter.

Prop Q Citywide Public Safety AOC

Prop K LA for Kids Steering Committee

Members: CAO, CLA and Mayor
Summary: The Proposition K: L.A. for Kids Program was established on November 5, 1996, by passage of a Ballot Mesure approved by City voters. The program is currently in its sixteenth year of a 30-year authority, during which the City is authorized to collect $25 million in annual assessments for total funding of $750 million over the life of the program. Eligible uses of assessment monies include capital and acquisition costs for youth recreational and cultural facilities, program administration, maintenance of completed Proposition K projects and to pay debt service for projects authorized to receive bond financing under the program.

CRA/LA Bond Oversight Committee

Members: CAO, CLA and Mayor
Summary: This Committee oversees projects funded by approximately $96 million in excess bond proceeds from the former Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). Projects are located in 21 former CRA redevelopment areas throughout the City, and fall under the main categories of public infrastructure, community facilities, open space, affordable housing, and business assistance.
